Fermi Development is a UK based nuclear energy developer applying proven development expertise to accelerate the deployment of Small and Advanced Modular Reactors.
Our focus is simple: identify, secure and develop a portfolio of nuclear sites that are ready for private investment and fleet deployment, aligned with the UK’s wider transition to secure, low carbon power.
Unlike traditional nuclear developers, Fermi is technology-agnostic. We will select the most commercially advantageous solution for each of our sites.
With over 50 years of nuclear experience and a strong portfolio of development sites, Fermi presents a compelling opportunity to invest in the UK’s energy transition.

The pathway to achieving net zero in the UK requires comprehensive and reliable energy infrastructure. Renewable energy sources, while critical, provide intermittent supply and lack the energy density to support baseload electricity demands.
Nuclear energy, with its capacity to deliver consistent and high-density power, remains the best option to complement renewable energy.
We estimate that there is an 18-gigawatt market for new nuclear projects in the UK to address the 70% gap in the UK’s requirements.
Fermi has started to build a pipeline of development sites and is poised to address this critical gap through a portfolio-based approach to nuclear project development. We offer a strategy that de-risks investment and accelerates project timelines.
