Ground-breaking collaboration agreement signed between Fugro and Fermi Development

In a first of its kind strategic partnership, Fugro and Fermi Development have joined forces to deliver a portfolio of development projects in the UK, suitable for Small or Advanced Modular Reactors.

Working together, Fugro and Fermi plan to develop a number of sites through to Final Investment Decision – with all necessary consents and permissions in place to enable construction and commissioning.

This strategic partnership brings together Fugro’s world-leading expertise in ground risk management, site characterisation and geo-data solutions and Fermi’s ambitions to create and deliver a portfolio of nuclear development projects from a pipeline of potential sites.

Fermi is working to achieve ‘Ready to Build’ status at its sites through a staged process, that includes securing:  ​

• Land required for development

• Major permissions and licences required to commence construction​

• Grid connection agreement​

• Reactor technology vendor supplier agreement​

• Construction contract documentation.
